CULTIVATE BIG-PICTURE THINKING.

1. We are Lifelong Learners.
   It brings wholeness and maturity to a person’s thinking. It brings perspective. Big picture thinkers are lifelong learners. They are always visiting new places, reading new books, meeting new people, learning new skills. During my period of self reflection, I started to learn insightfully the “World of Metaverse” and how it will impact us in a much bigger picture. It is scary if we are ignorant of it. I was scared!
2. We listen with intent.
   When we meet good people, it’s good to have an agenda so that we can learn. Partnering with people who can do things we can’t is a great way. We need to recognise that we don’t know lot of things. The ability to frequently ask penetrating questions, that are not offensive or demaning, enlarge our understanding and thinking. To be a better big-picture thinker, starts with becoming a good listener.
3. We look expansively beyond us. Human beings habitually see their own world first. Big-picture thinkers realise there is a world out there besides our own, and will make an effort to get outside of themselves and see other people’s worlds through their eyes. It’s hard to see the picture while inside our own frame. Becoming a good listener certainly helps me. So does getting over my personal agenda and trying to assimilate the other person’s perspective. Believe me, it isn’t easy but it is very worth it.
4. We should be able to live completely. Becoming a big-picture thinker can help us live with wholeness, to live a very fulfilling life. People who see the big picture expand their experience because they expand their world. They then accomplish more than narrow-minded people. They can live more completely seeing the many components involved in any given situations: issues, people, relationships, timings, and values.

Big-picture Thinking allows us to LEAD! To see the vision first before others. To size up situations, taking into accounts many uncertainties and variables. To be able to sketch a picture of where the team is going. To show how the future connects with the past to make the journey more meaningful. To seize the moment when the timing is right!

All these do not come with no hard work at all! It does require the capacity and capability to continuously wanting to be lifelong learners.
